Wow. What luck to find a great Indonesian restaurant in Ashland Oregon. Who’d a thunk. This place is amazing; we shared, chicken satay (best we’ve had), Rendang beef curry and Mie Goreng fried noodles. All flipping amazing. So good we ordered black rice pudding for dessert. Can we spend the night?
This was our first time eating at Blue Toba, my parents and I loved it! My mom got their special which was a seasonal soup as her meal and it was exactly what she was craving, as the hostess described it, “a hug in a mug” for this rainy day. My dad and I got the Ayam Bakar, a grilled chicken dish that was well made and so flavorful just as described in the menu. My younger brother (who’s a picky eater) devoured the Mie Goreng fried noodle dish before any of us finished ours 😆 Their black rice pudding dessert was delicious! I highly recommend giving this place a try if you’d like to try Indonesian food! The service we received was warm and welcoming, we will definitely come back again!
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Ashland. The corn fritters were the favorite appetizer. And you can't go wrong with satay. The rice curry dish was my favorite of the entrees. Followed by the noodle dish. However, everyone agreed the beef dish was least favorite. The black rice pudding was good. Overall great space, good service, nice team working there. Though don't go with a big crowd who all want to pay by credit card. It is beyond me why credit card processors and restaurants don't get together and create an EASY way for them to take multiple credit cards for a table - because apparently it's a big tnuisance for them to do so. I really did love the food. I regret not taking photos.
This place deserves to be full with how good the food is!! WOW! We went for lunch and got the fried chicken, pork skewers, and chicken bowl. Delicious and one of the best things I’ve eaten in Ashland.
Situated just across from the Shakespeare Festival grounds, this Indonesian restaurant has an incredible and welcoming wait staff, along with plenty of seating. The drink menu is original, and the drinks we had were delicious. But the food was even better. The curry braised beef with 20 spices is something that I will definitely be back for, and the coconut chicken thighs were tender and perfectly seasoned. I'm definitely coming back here - probably every day this week while I'm in Ashland.
