Great stop before the theater show for some wine and pizza. The local wine was good and the bacon and bees pizza bomb. We also had the steelhead piccata which was cooked prefectly.
Product for the price was disappointing. I think we would have been more satisfied both in terms of flavor and in overall experience with refrigerator ravioli and frozen lasagna. Slow service and left hungry. Photo shows a disappointing dish with a few leaves of basil and a couple chopped tomatoes. Not at all flavorfully beyond the the lemon we squeezed on.
I grew up in Chicago and have lived near there most of my life. Contrary to popular notions, most Chicagoans prefer thin crust, tavern style pizza most often. I am here to say, with some regret but no shame, that The Bacon & The Bees is the best pizza I have ever had. No notes. And the leftovers cold the next morning were still delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Food was really great. The service the second time was great, the first time, not so much. The first night we went there, they had a jazz singer. Way too loud and the service was not great. We liked the food and had been there before so we went back and, no jazz! And the service was great. We will definitely go back when we are in Ashland. But not on jazz night.
Cool little hangout spot in the evening nice full Bar pretty happy place. Definitely worth checking out.
